Welcome to the 2016 National Off-road Racing Championship Final to be held in Twizel. This is the final round for 2016 were the North meets the South in a two day epic battle to decide who will be the National Champions for 2016..
Friday 21st October – Scruitineering
Scruitineering, 11.00am – 6.00pm this will be held in the vacant area in front of the musters hut cafe in Twizel. Teams travelling from Christchurch take the second turn on to Ruataniwha Road into Twizel you will see the scruitineering area 50 metres down the road.
After scruitineering we encourage you to park your car in line for the public this will be a great opportunity to show off your car for sponsors and promote the event and profile the sport
PLEASE TAKE NOTE ALL CARS MUST HAVE A 2016 TAG, NO TAG, NO RACE.
Driver and passenger wrist bands will be issued at scrutineering.
If unforeseen circumstances prevent you from attending scruitineering you MUST contact Barry Phillips on 0272567686 – and he will consider alternative arrangements. Scruitineering will be as per the ORANZ rulebook And all cars must be tagged.. Arm restraints or window nets are strongly recommended. Front window meshes are also strongly recommended as there are stones present on the track surface.
You can camp on site; there are toilets but no showers
Saturday 2nd October, Short Course
8.00am – 9.00am brake tests will be held at the Ohau Canal Race Track. All cars must be scruitineered before racing.
If you are not in queue for a brake test by 9.00am you will start off at the rear of your class for heats.
10.00am Marshall and ORANZ briefing
10.30am – Drivers Briefing all drivers MUST ATTEND
11.00am – Racing Starts….
The short course will consist of 3 heats of 5 laps for each class. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WILL REQUIRE US TO STAGE HEATS VERY QUICKLY AND WILL ALLOW US LITTLE LEEWAY IN REGARDS TO GETTING CARS ON GRID – SO BE READY!
After the heats there will be a fifteen lap all in this will be split in to an A feature and B feature
Order will be decided on the day
SUNDAY 23rd OCTOBER ENDURO
PLEASE NOTE ACCESS ROAD TO THE PIT AREA WILL CLOSE AT 9.30 AM ONCE YOU ARE IN YOU ARE IN FOR THE DURATION OF THE ENDURO.
8.00am – 9.00am Brake test Start Order for the Enduro will be based on your fastest time on Saturdays racing.
9.30am Marshall and ORANZ briefing .
10.30am – drivers briefing all drivers MUST ATTEND.
11.00am – RACING STARTS!!!
The Enduro will be 250km. The track closes 30 minutes after the chequered flag.
PRIZE GIVING SUNDAY NIGHT
This will be held on Sunday night at the Twizel Event Centre this is located next to the big four square supermarket in town. The event centre will be open from 5.30 pm prize giving will start at 7pm.
This will be a BYO Alcohol event; the club will provide nibbles and snacks for the evening.

Your entry fee includes your four free entry passes to Saturday’s and Sundays racing. All personnel including drivers require entry passes for Saturday and Sunday additional pit or support crew will require an entry passes at the normal fee of $10 per person. All entry passes will be handed out at scruitineering.
Trophies and Certificates
Trophies will be awarded for the racing on Saturday and Sunday.
The twizel 250 Trophies is up for grabs for the Enduro. The current holder is Ernie Hogg from Auckland
There will be an overall 1st 2nd 3rd for the weekend.
Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd by class for the weekend
Trophies for 1st 2nd and 3rd by class for the national competition and NZ1, NZ2 an NZ3
Certificates will be issued to all competitors

If entries are not received by 10th October you will not be on the programme.
Race 1 is a computer generated random draw, Race 2 reverse of Race 1, Race 3 will be based on your race times from Race 1 and 2 fastest on pole to slowest.
