NEWS FLASH
Counties Manukau Offroad racing club is a winner
Yes I can safely say that our club has a great series in the Counties classic . From small beginnings five years ago when only 10-12 drivers turned up to race, to a series that now attracts minimum fields of 20 !!!!!!! I think the biggest field was 34 but I stand to be corrected on this.
What a great final contest this year. It was on a tricky track that tested the driver and the car strength. Thanks must go out to Jim Cato for allowing us to run the event at Meremere. To all the entrants this year thanks for your support of the series . Its you Guys and Girls that vote by entering the series that tells me that we are doing something right. Here is the GOOOOOODDD news: the series will be run again in 2009 and not only will you be able to win the overall prize of a $1500.00 travel Voucher but we will have $$$$$$ prizes for 2nd and 3rd place also. Of course our Trophies will be the best and will go down to 5th place as in the past.
For those of you that attended the prize giving at the Muddy Waters thanks for your support there also. Due to the bad weather that seemed to follow offroad racing around in 2008, events had to be postponed etc. This meant that as a club we had to condense our usual end of year function and prize giving into the final prize giving of the counties classic series. We had just run out of time for any thing else. To those who watched I must explain that the silver Cups that you witnessed being handed out were trophies awarded to Counties Manukau Club Members. There is a long tradition with these cups with many prominent name of our sport appearing on them.
Remember Boys and Girls club membership is now open and required before racing in the 2009 season.
To everyone what ever your plans are Have a Great Christmas and fantastic new year. I know I'll be doing my best to do just that.
See you all in 2009
