At the completion of the regional rounds of the 2016 Polaris New Zealand Offroad Racing Championship, I believe the sport is in good health. It’s great to see such strong turnouts to events both north and south, and great to see clubs trying new innovations like live streaming.
With the final round now six weeks away, we are about to re-approach existing championship sponsors and to start the process of inviting other companies to support the classes in 2017.
As we do so, it’s a good time to remind all racers that it is essential to run the championship – and where applicable the class – sponsor decals, and to have them in the right place on the vehicle. The areas reserved for championship decals are set out in the rule book, which is available in soft copy at http://www.oranz.co.nz/information/rule-book/
The decals are an important part of what we deliver to the sponsors in return for their support. They ensure the sponsors are visible in media coverage and in the images we shoot at every event.
We are inviting all our sponsors to attend the national championship final round, will have ample decal stocks available at scrutineering and will be applying the decals to vehicles in the correct areas where they are not already in place. Vehicles will also be observed on the dummy grid before going out to race and will not be allowed on track without the correct national championship branding.
